Small- Lupita Traditional Mexican Lelé Doll

Small Traditional Lelé María Mexican Dolls Handcrafted in Amealco de Bonfil by the Community of Santiago Mexquititlan, Querétaro

This tiny version of a Lelé doll is a one-of-a-kind handcrafted item made by women from the community of Santiago de Mexquititlán in Amealco de Bonfil, Queretaro, who have passed down this artisan tradition from generation to generation. Long braids with crowns and bows in bright colors are among its distinguishing features, as is its traditional dress, which depicts flora and fauna and is representative of its creators' traditional clothing.

The beautiful Lele dolls are iconic Mexican images and true works of art from the Otomí (Hñäñhu) community. "Lelé" in Otomí means baby, so that is what these dolls are: a baby doll—now in a smaller version!

  • Handcrafted in Querétaro, Mexico
  • Smaller version
  • Lelé dolls are the perfect gift and make the perfect decor piece
  • The beautiful dress includes motifs of  designs that depict the artisans' traditional garments
  • Made of "tela de cambaya", a traditional cotton garment, polyester, and cotton
  • Movable legs and arms to adjust to any position
  • Approximate Measurements:

    " tall x 3" long x 2" wide

At Lolo - Mercadito we are committed to acknowledging the nature of each product. With each purchase, you get a unique and authentic piece handmade with love by artisans from Mexico. For their artisanal nature, there might be some flaws and variations in color, measurements, and design.
