Handcrafted in Zinapécuaro, Michoacán by artisans with brilliant, innovative designs and techniques. This decorative plate is crafted from locally sourced clay, shaped and burnished with river stones to achieve a distinctive shine. Smoked and baked in a woodfire oven, this vase undergoes a decorative method called the “negative imprint," where the piece is pulled from the fire mid-process, cooled, painted with natural pigments, and then re-smoked for contrast and depth.
